About
Murals of the World is a public record of murals. Who painted each wall, where it is, and if it’s still there.
Most murals don’t have a name on them. A wall goes up, the neighborhood loves it, and a few years later nobody can tell you who made it. I wanted a place where every muralist has a page, with their walls on a map and their name on every one.
By our best count there are somewhere between 50,000 and 150,000 people around the world who paint murals as part of their work, and hundreds of thousands of murals. Right now we have 19,389 walls by 9,047 artists in 1,181 cities. We add more every week. I want more and more of it to come from the artists themselves and from people who find walls on their own streets.
Artists can claim their page for free, fix anything we got wrong, and add their own photos. Anyone can add a wall.

I’m Justin Wills. I started Society6, and the part of it I loved most was the community. Artists from all over the world, with different politics, religions and backgrounds, sharing their work and cheering each other on. Murals have that same thing in them. They’re made for whoever walks by.
I get to build another community like that here, and I take that seriously. I want this to be a place where a lot of different voices get heard, and where everyone who shows up feels safe and welcome. I’m working on it every day.
