Help

How it works.

Steps for artists, photographers and anyone who wants to use a wall. Still stuck? Ask M, bottom right.

I painted a wall

Claim your page (free)

  1. Find your page: search your name on Artists, or open the link in the email we sent you.
  2. If you got an email from us, tap the claim link in it. That’s it, the page is yours.
  3. No email? Press Claim this page. We send a 6-digit code to the email on your own website. Type it in.
  4. No website? Choose Instagram on the claim form. We give you a short code to put in your bio, then check it.

  1. Go to muralsoftheworld.com/me.
  2. Enter the email on your claim. We email you a sign-in link. There is no password.
  3. Each link works once, for 15 minutes. Ask for a new one any time.

Once you’re in

  • Walls: fix titles and years, mark walls still up or gone, add your own photos.
  • Profile: a photo, a short bio, up to five links, and your signature or tag.
  • Requests: permission requests and hire requests come straight to your email. Reply and it goes to the person who asked. We take no cut of hire work.
  • Numbers: page views, saves and requests for the last 30 days, plus a monthly email.

A wall that isn’t yours, or a wall we missed? Fix it at /me, or email hello@muralsoftheworld.com.

I took a photo or found a wall

  1. Found a wall that isn’t on the site? Add it with a photo and where it is.
  2. Have a photo of a wall that’s already here? Open the wall’s page and add your photo there.
  3. We check each photo, then it goes up with your name as the photographer.
  4. A wall is gone or painted over? Say so on the wall’s page.

I want to use a wall

For a film, a photo shoot, an ad, a product or a post.

  1. Open the wall’s page and fill in the permission request.
  2. If the artist has claimed the page, it goes straight to them and they reply to you.
  3. If not, it comes to us and we pass it on to the artist.

The copyright in a mural stays with the artist. A page here is a record, not permission. Want to hire an artist for a new wall? Use the form on their artist page.

Other questions

What does it cost?

Nothing for artists. Claiming is free and always will be. When paid licensing is switched on, artists set their own price and keep all of it, and the buyer pays a 15% fee on top. It isn’t switched on yet.

Can I take my page down?

The site is a public record, so walls from public lists stay up. Walls we can’t back up (untitled ones, or old walls we can’t confirm) come down if the artist asks. Tell us which walls are wrong and we’ll fix them.

How do I stop your emails?

Use the stop link at the bottom of any email from us, or reply “stop”.

Can I write in my own language?

Yes. Email us or ask M in any language and we’ll answer in yours.
